Elevating training today for a blindness free tomorrow

Help Us End Preventable Blindness

160,000 Hondurans and millions worldwide live with treatable blindness due to lack of care. ACE Global is ready to change that with a new, world-class facility to perform 10,000 surgeries each year. But we can’t do it alone. We need your help to raise $2.5 million to make this life-changing expansion possible. Join us today — your support will restore sight and transform lives!

Seeing The Need

For years we have rallied around the fact that more than 160,000 Hondurans and millions of others around the world live unnecessarily with visual impairment or blindness due to inadequate access to care. We know that a primary reason for this inequity is a lack of trained clinicians providing affordable services to those in need. To address this need head-on we have partnered with Honduran and US organizations and academic institutions to deliver world class training programs for ophthalmologists and allied health professionals.

EXCEEDING CAPACITY

We know our model works. Since 2020, 30 trainees have completed our programs that have provided 4,000+ life-changing surgeries and 12,000+ specialized consults.

Yet, as our programs grow and evolve, the need for a more permanent home has become increasingly clear. We have exceeded our capacity at all partner facilities, leaving no room for additional trainees or patient care. We are ready for more.

Channeling a Clear Vision

Our vision is to create a standalone facility where we will host and continue to expand our programs. This facility will be owned and operated by our partners in Honduras, achieving financial sustainability by leveraging local revenue sources. We will have the autonomy to leverage our skills and expertise to provide high-quality care for the underserved in the way we know best. Our new facility will have the capacity to perform 10,000 surgeries per year.

Approximately 20,000+ sq ft:

  • Training center and simulation lab
  • Surgery center, clinic space, pharmacy, lab, and open-air waiting area for patient care
  • Research and administrative wing
  • Visitor center, recreational area, and long-term housing

Key features:

  • Sustainability in mind with solar energy, recycled materials, independent water source, and space for cultivating food
  • Safe location outside of main cities, yet still accessible

This is just the beginning. In the future we plan to develop a network of satellite clinics for referrals and follow-up care, as well as to explore ways to expand our model to other parts of the world.

Gazing at our goal

We estimate that we need $2.5 million to fund the design, construction, outfitting and initial operations of our new facility. This preliminary budget is based on initial schematic designs, average land costs, and ballpark estimates from contractors. We continue to refine our budget based on final price quotes and supplementary in-kind donations.

FUNDING GOAL$2,500,000

Thanks to leadership gifts, we already have $1,176,000 committed to the project. Find out more below on how you can contribute to the campaign.
